Paul's Hawaii Lava Web Page

This is a small selection of images from a trip to Hawaii, September 2002. I spent three days photographing the eruption of Kilauea. All of these images are taken along the western edge of the flow, very near the latest parking lot at the end of the Chain of Craters Road. The pictures barely do justice to the witnessing of the event. This is one of the most facinating and exciting things that I have ever done.

I have MANY more images (and not just of the eruption...) that I have put together as a computer slide show on CD-ROM. When you see me, I will be glad to give you a showing!

The state of the current eruptive activity can be seen by pointing your web browser to the USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory (HVO).
